The selection of the Pálinkas of Excellence started with the training of the judges. On this occasion the members of the committee have received the invitation letter to judge from Sándor Fazekas Minister of Agriculture.
The National Pálinka of Excellence Program started in 2014. This year the Ministry together with the Pálinka National Council is organizing the National Tasting and within this frame work under the supervision of the Ministry the Pálinkas of Excellence are selected between the 4th-6th June 2018. Out of the awarded samples full tasting notes will be produced and published in the Book of Pálinka of Excellence and on the website palinka.gov.hu.

Péter Gál Deputy State Secretary for Products with Protected Origin highlighted the importance of the Pálinka of Excellence book in terms of pálinka -tasting- language as well as development and protection. This selection is the base foundation of the community appearance, such as the international fair ProWein.
